Will the government allow people to withdraw money from their EPF accounts again? Anwar is concerned that if withdrawals are allowed again, people’s EPF savings will be even smaller.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar said that most people’s EPF savings are now too small and if people are allowed to withdraw money from their EPF accounts again, they will only have less money left in their EPF.

Anwar said that the government needs to find better ways to help people improve their lives and financial hardships, and that approving people to withdraw from their EPF accounts will only make their EPF savings even smaller.

Since Anwar took office as Prime Minister and Finance Minister, there has been public pressure on EPF to introduce a targeted withdrawal scheme. There are many #kwspbersasar messages on the EPF Facebook page, where people are asking the EPF to introduce a targeted withdrawal plan.

In fact, a coalition of political parties earlier threw out the idea that a targeted EPF withdrawal scheme would be introduced during the 15th national election, which also led to many people bubbling over with demands for withdrawals from their EPF accounts.

In response to the coronary disease epidemic, the former government launched four EPF withdrawal schemes, namely i-Lestari, i-Sinar, i-Citra and Pengeluaran Khas. i-Lestari is a scheme that allows members to withdraw money from their second CPF account, while i-Sinar is a scheme that allows members to withdraw money from their first EPF account. As for i-Citra and Pengeluaran Khas, they allow members to withdraw from either the first or second account of the EPF .
