Johor Fire Department rises inspections at 182 locations.

In preparation for Chinese New Year, the Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) intensifies inspections of 182 public buildings, including hotels, shopping malls, holiday resorts, and beaches.

According to Johor JBPM acting director Mohd Rizal Buang, the inspections began earlier this month and will continue until January 30. The inspections will focus on the security system and the level of preparedness of the EmergencyResponseTeam (ERT), among other things.

The exit points were checked to ensure that they were not blocked because people need to use them to escape to a safer location in an emergency. The department would also station fire engines near the Sedenak and YongPeng highways to ensure the safety of motorists.

The fire engines will be on high alert, regular patrols will be conducted, and assistance will be provided in the event of a road accident. This exercise involves a total of 150 people.

To raise public awareness about fire safety, he said the department would highlight safety campaigns on social media platforms such as TikTok.
