The government will provide RM500 shopping vouchers for flood victims to purchase electrical appliances.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced that the government has agreed to provide shopping vouchers for flood victims to use to purchase electrical appliances. This measure is to ease the burden of the flood victims.
Eligible victims will be given shopping vouchers worth RM500. The victims must purchase electrical appliances from e-commerce platforms, supermarkets and stores certified by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the appliances purchased must be those listed.
In addition, the government will also issue RM1000 vouchers to owners of totaled cars. Owners can use the RM1000 vouchers to repair or replace their cars. Various car manufacturers in the country have also agreed to provide various assistance to the victims.
A. Perodua: Perodua car owners can get a free towing service and a 50% discount on labor charges and parts for the first apartment.
B. Proton: Proton owners can enjoy 50% discount on auto parts, and provide towing and car wash services.
C. Others: Owners can enjoy free towing service, 25% discount on repair and auto parts, as well as installment payment on repair costs.
The government previously announced that RM1000 aid will be distributed to families affected by the floods, and the aid will be distributed in the easiest way possible, i.e. face-to-face, along households or directly through bank transfers.
