Our country will officially end 3G networks on December 31! Please make sure your mobile phone and Sim card support the 4G network and turn on the VoLTE function of the mobile phone.

Domestic telecommunications companies will shut down domestic 3G networks on December 31, 2021, and upgrade existing 3G facilities to 4G and 5G networks. The 2G network will still provide services. This is to allow users in rural areas or using pure dial-up mobile phones to still get in touch with the outside world normally.

People are urged to check whether their mobile phones and Sim cards support 4G networks. The check method is very simple, just open the Internet data of the mobile phone. If the words 4G or LTE appear in the status bar, it means that the 4G network is supported. If your mobile phone and Sim card do not support 4G network, after the telecommunication company closes the 3G network, you can only use 2G to contact.

Many people complained that their cell phone signal suddenly changed to “E” and could not access the Internet at all. The so-called “E” is the abbreviation of EDGE, which is a 2G network. The 2G network can only provide ordinary phone calls and send mobile phone text messages, and Internet access is impossible.

Some mobile phone users complained that they only received “G” signals. The “G” signal is also the GSM network, which also belongs to the 2G network. It can only make calls and send mobile phone text messages.

When the telecommunications company has not shut down the 3G network, users have at least 3G (H or H+) networks available for use in the case of poor signal. At least you can surf the Internet under H or H+ networks, such as browsing low-traffic web pages, sending WhatsApp, etc. However, after closing the 3G network, the phone can only connect to the lowest-end 2G network when it cannot receive the 4G network smoothly.

Young people must check whether their mobile phones and Sim cards support 4G networks for their elders at home.
