29/12/2021

Young people between the ages of 18 and 20 will receive the RM150 eStart e-purse reward from the government in 2022!

Finance Minister Tunku Zafrul announced in late October during the presentation of the Budget in Parliament that the government will give out RM150 eStart e-purse to young people between the ages of 18 and 20. The government has not yet announced how and when the RM150 eStart reward will be distributed.

Many people are wondering why the government is only giving out eWallet rewards to young people between the ages of 18 and 20. This is because the government wants to help all age groups and all groups in need. 18 to 20 year olds are at an awkward age where they are not eligible for either the Start of School Assistance or the Malaysian Family Assistance.

Primary and secondary school students between the ages of 7 and 17 are eligible for the RM150 Start of School Assistance (BAP), while young people aged 21 and above are also eligible for the BKM, and those who are eligible to pay income tax are also eligible for income tax deductions. At present, only young people between the ages of 18 and 20 are not eligible for the BKM.

In order to ensure that young people between the ages of 18 and 20 do not feel left out, the government has decided to distribute the RM150 eStart eWallet bonus to this age group. students aged 20 and above are also eligible to receive the RM150 eStart eWallet bonus.

Recalling the eBelia eWallet Rewards Program launched by the government in early 2021, eligible persons can receive eWallet Rewards through Boost, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, ShopeePay and BigPay.
