Schools are opening across the states and parents who are not sending their children to school need to submit a letter of request!

As several states enter Stage 4 recovery, the Department of Education has announced that classes may begin in those states that are entering Stage 4 recovery. If you are unsure about sending your child back to school, you can suspend sending your child to school, but only if you give the school a letter of request.

Schools in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Malacca will return to school in phases from 1 November and 8 November onwards. Schools in Johor and Terengganu will also return to school in phases from 8 November and 14 November. Schools in Labuan and Negeri Sembilan have also started to return to school.

Parents have the right to decide whether or not to allow their children to return to school, and are urged to give notice to the school if they choose not to allow their children to return to school for the time being. This is so that the school can keep track of the student’s whereabouts, rather than the student missing school on their own. Those students who do give formal notice will not be subject to disciplinary action by the school.
