Najib urged the government to allow people to withdraw money from the CPF before Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr!

Former Prime Minister Najib pointed out in a Facebook post that previously, Hizbul Mujahideen, Toontaw Party and EPP did not agree with the proposal of the last withdrawal from the CPF, but the Johor state election is imminent, Hizbul Mujahideen, Toontaw Party and EPP have only supported the withdrawal proposal.

Najib said that the CPF dividend payout has been announced and has been released to members, and now is the best time to allow people to withdraw their CPF deposits. Najib believes that allowing withdrawals from the CPF will help ease the economic pressure on those who are not yet out of economic difficulties.

Najib proposed to launch the CPF withdrawal scheme before Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. This year, Ramadan will run from April 2 to May 2, while Eid al-Fitr will be on May 3 and 4.

Najib also pointed out in the post that only after the approval of the withdrawal plan, he started to focus on how to help people with low savings to restore their CPF savings.

Action Party Lim Guan Eng suggested a few days ago that the government allow the public to withdraw at least RM5,000, and Justice Party Anwar also reversed his previous stance and asked for immediate approval of CPF withdrawals.

In a Facebook post, Anwar pointed out that although he did not support the withdrawal of CPF before, the government has failed to help the flood victims so far, so he changed his stance and called for the immediate approval of CPF withdrawal. Anwar listened to many people’s complaints during his campaign for the Johor state election.
