Does your area already support 5G?

Since the domestic 5G network was formally launched half a year ago, YTL Yes has become the first Malaysian telecoms firm to roll out a 5G network. Currently, 5G is only available in select areas of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Selangor, Perak, and Johor.

You can use a 5G network if your smartphone supports it, the area you’re in has 5G network coverage, and the telecoms provider you use is compatible with it. The data made public by DNB indicates that a 5G network typically has a 600Mbps network speed.

Visit https://www.digital-nasional.com.my/interactive-map#map to see if your area can support a 5G network. The 5G map will then reveal whether your location is compatible with the 5G network once you enter the address of your neighbourhood.

The 5G map also gives you a clear understanding of the 5G base stations that are now being built, enabling you to determine whether 5G construction is currently taking place in your area. You can use the 5G network for the first time once the 5G base station is finished.

A collaboration agreement will reportedly be signed by Digi, Maxis, Celcom, and U Mobile, which have also reportedly agreed to use the DNB-established 5G network.
