Malaysia’s first Go To-U EV charging hub goes offline.

On Thursday, Go To-U Malaysia, a subsidiary of Roda Emas Industries (REISB), opened its first EV charging station at Rekascape in Cyberjaya. The DC fast chargers are free to use as an introductory offer until the end of January 2023. However, it appears that the EV DC chargers were discontinued shortly after their release and are still not available today.

Malaysia’s first Go To-U EV charging hub features two Star Charge DC chargers and four EV charging nozzles with 30kW output each. The location also includes a lifestyle hub with a customer lounge area and a coffee vending machine.

To use the chargers, you must first download the Go To-U app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Aside from the Go To-U charging hub, the same app can be used to activate Sime Darby Motors and TNBX EV chargers. All four 30kW DC nozzles at Go To-U EV Hub are currently unavailable, as shown below.

It’s not a good look for their first EV charging hub to be unavailable after the launch. Unfortunately, Go To-U has not provided a rough timeline for when the chargers will be fully restored. The chargers should be available soon, before the free trial period expires. Go To-U has yet to reveal its pricing, but it is understood that they are applying for an EVCS licence from the Energy Commission, which will allow them to charge based on kWh rather than parking time.

Go To-U, on the other hand, claims to be the world’s first to offer pro reservation technology for EVs in a mobile app. ParkEasy, which we developed ourselves, also provides a reservation system for Shell Recharge, which requires an app to manage the smart parking barrier. Go To-U, on the other hand, allows you to book specific time slots with a preferred duration up to 7 days in advance.
