WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to leave a group silently, without the rest of the group receiving a notification.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets users leave WhatsApp groups silently, which preserves the privacy of their opt-out.
Currently, when someone leaves a WhatsApp group, the group’s chat page displays a notification that the user has left the group, making the user’s withdrawal public and leading to many people being afraid to withdraw from the group.
WhatsApp is developing a feature to avoid this situation.
It is understood that the developing feature of quietly withdrawing from a group will only let the user and the group administrator receive notifications. When a user chooses to leave a group, the dialog box will say “Only you and the group administrator will be notified about leaving the group”.
In addition, WhatsApp is also testing rich link previews. When a user shares a link to WhatsApp, WhatsApp will show a preview of the link.
