Ways to renew your passport online and save time waiting at the immigration office!

06/04/2022

Our country opened its borders from April 1, and those who return home are exempt from quarantine if they meet certain conditions. Are your passports still valid if you plan to travel or visit relatives abroad? If your passport has expired, you have the option of renewing it online.

The Immigration Department has been offering online passport renewal for some time, although it has not promoted this measure very much before. All you need to do is provide a current mugshot and pay the renewal fee, and then you can pick up your new passport at a selected INS branch.

To renew your passport online, you must first visit https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/eservices/myPasport, read the terms and conditions, and then click on Setuju. You will then need to select the applicant’s age category, enter your passport number, ID number and other information, and the branch where you want to receive the passport at the immigration office branch.

You will then need to complete the information, upload the eligible photo and complete the payment process. You must print the renewal receipt and bring it, your old passport and ID card to the designated immigration branch to receive your updated passport.

Passport renewal fee is RM200 for those aged 13 to 59 years old and RM100 for those aged 60 years old and above who can pay the renewal fee by credit card or FPX transfer.
