According to Selangor government, to help ease the burden of rising prices, Selangor government will sell standard chicken at up to RM8 per kilo at the Selangor Agricultural Development Board (PKNS) building and Wholesale Market in Sri Kembangan, Selangor.
The offer started on February 7 and will last for 2 weeks. During the promotion period, a total of 50,000 standard chickens will be sold. Each customer can only purchase 2 chickens.
In addition, the price per pallet of eggs will be reduced by 70 sen, from 12.40 sen to 11.70 sen. Selangor Agriculture Development Board will allocate RM1 million to make up the difference in price reduction.
This is one of the activities of the Ehsan Program and will be extended to other state or parliamentary constituencies if the response is overwhelming.
The state government is also negotiating with producers to reduce the price of eggs to ease the burden on the people.
