Vaccinated travellers (over 13 yo), as well as those who have recently recovered, are no longer need to be tested upon arrival.
Vaccinated travellers aged 13 and older, as well as anyone who has recovered from a Covid-19 infection in the previous six to 60 days, will no longer be required to take Covid-19 tests upon arrival in Malaysia.
During a press conference streamed live online today, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin revealed the news, noting that children under the age of 12 will be excused from the testing upon arrival.
All types of travellers, including Umrah, Haj, and foreign workers, will be subject to the same policy. Booster immunizations are essential for Umrah and Haj pilgrims before departing for the Holy Land. Travelers who are unvaccinated or have not completed their vaccines, according to Khairy, will still be subjected to Covid-19 tests.
They must test two days before flying to Malaysia, either with rapid test kits (RTK-Ag) or a professional RT-PCR test; and then do another RTK-Ag test within 24 hours of arriving, under the supervision of a medical practitioner, either virtually or in person.
They will then be quarantined for five days before undergoing a final test, which will either be an RTK-Ag test on the fourth day or a professional RT-PCR test on the fifth day.
Non-Malaysians will no longer need Covid-19 insurance to enter Malaysia, according to Khairy.
However, he stated that while arriving at international arrival gates at airports, all passengers will be required to present their “Traveller’s Card” on the MySejahtera contact tracing smartphone app.
