MySejahtera scans will no longer be required from May 1.

Starting May 1, Malaysians will no longer be required to scan using the MySejahtera contact tracing programme to enter businesses, according to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

However, property owners can check the health condition of their visitors to see if they have been tested positive for Covid-19, are high-risk, or have been placed under home monitoring (HSO).

Khairy, on the other hand, advised members of the public to enable contact tracking for Covid-19 infection cases by turning on their MySJ Trace option.

There are presently 58,436 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, with 56,776, or 97.2 percent, observing home confinement, and 61 persons at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres around the country, according to Dr Noor Hisham.

In the meantime, 161 new hospital admissions related Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday.

There were 87 cases in Categories 1 and 2, and 74 in Categories 3, 4, and 5.

With 36 fresh admissions, Selangor (22) led the way, followed by Perak (20) and Sarawak (15).  The ministry discovered two more clusters yesterday.

According to Dr. Noor Hisham, the Covid-19 infectivity rate (R0) is currently at 0.70.
