Attention! IBG transactions at Public Bank counters are subject to RM0.30 handling fee per transaction.
According to the information issued by Public Bank’s official website, a handling fee of RM0.30 will be levied on Interbank GIRO (IBG) transactions and Standing Instruction (SI) transactions conducted at the bank’s counters.
The new measure is effective from 15 September 2023 onwards. However, senior citizens aged 60 years and above, as well as persons with disabilities, will not be subjected to additional handling charges when using IBG and SI services over the counter.
Recently, Public Bank has started to levy charges for over-the-counter services, such as RM2.00 for bill payments made over the counter, and 50 sen for bill payments made through cash deposit machines (CDTs) or cash recycling machines (CRMs), effective 1 September.
In addition, Public Bank will also levy a fee on merchants who use PB QR codes to collect money from customers. Merchants will be charged between 0.25 per cent and 0.50 per cent for collecting money from customers using PB QR codes. The new measure is effective from 1 October 2023 onwards.
