Notice! JPJ will implement new measures from September 15th! There is no need to take two theoretical courses and two theoretical exams.

According to information from the Land Transport Department (JPJ), people who have already obtained a motorcycle driver’s license do not need to take the KPP01 theory course and test when obtaining a car driver’s license. People who have already obtained a car driver’s license do not need to take the KPP01 theory course and test when obtaining a motorcycle driver’s license.

However, people who want to obtain a motorcycle driver’s license or a car driver’s license still need to take the KPP02 and KPP03 exams. KPP02 is a course and test to inspect the condition of the car before driving. KPP03 is a road course and exam.

The new measures will be transitionally effective from September 15, 2023 to December 31, 2024, and will be fully effective from January 1, 2025.

The driver’s licenses affected by this new measure are motorcycle Class A driver’s license, Class C driver’s license, B2 driver’s license and B driver’s license, as well as automobile Class A driver’s license, Class D, Class DA, Class F, Class G, Class H and Class I class.

It should be noted that the minimum age for obtaining a motorcycle driver’s license remains at 16 years old, while the minimum age for obtaining a car driver’s license is 17 years old.
