Unprecedented Case: Man Diagnosed with “Positive Pregnancy” despite Lack of Female Reproductive Organs

29/06/2023

A stunning “positive pregnancy” diagnosis was made following a battery of tests for a 42-year-old Jordanian man who was having excruciating pain on the left side of his tummy. The Jordanian medical community is baffled by this instance because although the man lacks female reproductive organs, his body has elevated levels of the pregnancy-indicating hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

The pathology specialist Dr. Hussam Abu Farsakh discussed this unusual case on an Arabic television network, according to The Mirror. Due to stomach trouble, the man went to a nearby clinic to get treated. However, the pregnancy test was found to be positive, which shocked the medical community and caused panic in the clinic. Dr. Farsakh, who was driven to learn the truth, emphasized that the stomach ache, not the pregnancy itself, is what really matters in this case.

The man had tumors that had spread to his liver, which resulted in aberrant metabolism of pregnancy hormones in the liver, according to further in-depth investigations. The man’s body developed an abnormally high level of pregnancy hormones as a result of this anomaly, which crossed the line for a positive pregnancy test.

It’s noteworthy that Thomas Beatie, formerly Tracy Lagondino, became the first legally acknowledged pregnant male in history. He had a hysterectomy and mastectomy in 2002, and in 2007 he announced that he was expecting. He eventually gave birth to three children.
