As at early June, Maybank was the highest listed company in Malaysia in terms of market capitalisation with a market capitalisation of RM106.533 billion. Maybank’s market capitalisation at the beginning of May was RM107.730 billion, a decrease compared to its market capitalisation in May.
The second largest listed company in terms of market capitalisation was Public Bank. Public Bank’s market capitalisation as at the beginning of June was RM89,872 million, an increase from the market capitalisation at the beginning of May. The third largest listed company in terms of market capitalisation was Petronas Chemicals (PCHEM) with a market capitalisation of RM80 billion, down from RM81.6 billion at the beginning of May.
IHH Pharmaceuticals and CIMB were the fourth and fifth largest listed companies with market capitalisation of RM57.306 billion and RM53.942 billion respectively. TENAGA and Hong Leong Bank ranked sixth and seventh with market capitalisation of RM51.420 billion and RM45.609 billion respectively.
The eighth to tenth largest listed companies in terms of market capitalisation were PMETAL, SIMEPLT and PETGAS with market capitalisation of RM43,752 million, RM33,956 million and RM32,287 million respectively.
