TNG may launch a Visa-enabled Prepaid Card in the near future!
According to a news release issued by Touch ‘n Go in November, Touch ‘n Go eWallet will launch the Visa Prepaid Card in December and users will be able to use the card at all Visa-enabled stores.
The Visa Prepaid Card is expected to be available only to people over the age of 18, and all applications can be made directly through the Touch ‘n Go eWallet. An eKYC verification process will be required at the time of application, and only one Visa Prepaid Card can be applied for per person.
Cardholders can use the card at Visa-supported stores worldwide and withdraw up to 5 times per day from Visa Plus-supported ATMs worldwide, subject to a maximum daily withdrawal limit of RM1,000 per withdrawal and RM5,000 per day.
The Visa Prepaid Card launched by Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be linked to the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, which means that when users use the Visa Prepaid Card in stores, the money will be deducted directly from the Touch ‘n Go eWallet. There is no need for users to manually recharge their Visa Prepaid Card.
The Visa Prepaid Card will work just like a regular Visa bank card, and users will have the option to use PIN or payWave for transactions. Users can use this Visa Prepaid Card at any store that supports Visa credit card services.
However, it is important to note that the Touch ‘n Go eWallet Visa Prepaid Card is not a regular TNG card and therefore cannot be used to pay tolls by tapping the payment terminal at the toll booths.
