There is no requirement for high-risk seniors to take the second dose of booster.

According to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, high-risk senior individuals will not be required to receive a second booster shot.

He stated that these people would be given the option of taking the additional protection against severe Covid-19 effects or not.

This is a personal decision; the Ministry of Health (MOH) can only advise (it). According to Khairy, he is not forcing anyone to do anything; he simply wants to ensure that our older citizens are well protected, especially when they all ‘balik kampung’ later.

According to Khairy, the MOH has begun treating high-risk Covid-19 patients with the antiviral medicine Paxlovid.

He claimed the antiviral medicine was intended to treat patients rather than serve as a vaccine replacement, and that the MOH will buy more of it.

Professional RTK-Ag tests monitored via virtual consultation are now allowed, according to the Health Minister, making it easier for the general public to conduct such tests.

If professional RTK testing are required, they can be conducted through live video and the results sent to you by email, for example. According to Khairy, medical practitioners can provide this service to the general people.

Apart from that, he said that recipients of Sinovac and Sinopharm primary vaccines who will be travelling to countries that do not recognise these vaccines can get other vaccines as their second booster dose by submitting an application through the MySejahtera app or visiting vaccination centres in person.

Further information on still-operational vaccination centres can be available on the website www.protecthealth.com.my, he stated.

Teenagers with a weakened immune system or who are immunocompromised can now get the booster shot, according to Khairy.

Please consult your doctor for more information on boosters. This is significant since (Covid-19) cases are on the rise among teenagers. According to Khairy, you can take the booster shot to stay safe in this group.

Next week, Khairy said he would make numerous announcements, including the latest developments in the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
