In Malaysia, about 1.4 million children have gotten their first dose.

About 1.4M children have gotten their first dose.

As of yesterday, 1,420,019 children aged five to eleven, or 39.9% of the country’s kid population, had received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).

According to the CovidNow website, 452,633 children have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, accounting for 12.7% of the total.

A total of 2,875,587 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 92.4 percent, and 2,976,803 have received at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 95.7 percent.

In the adult population, 15,980,555 people, or 67.9%, have had a booster dose, whereas 22,961,507 people, or 97.6%, have been fully vaccinated, and 23,238,533 people, or 98.8%, have had at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 55,642 vaccine doses were provided yesterday, with 40,397 being second doses, 6,247 being booster doses, and 8,998 being first doses, bringing the total vaccine doses distributed under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 69,692,713.

Meanwhile, a total of 16 deaths related to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, with Selangor reporting the most cases with five, followed by Johor with three.
