Attention! The west coast of the Semenanjung Malaysia will usher in a sea tide, and people are urged not to go near the beach!
According to information issued by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, there will be high tides in many areas on the west coast of the peninsula. The affected period will be from January 2 to 5, 2022. The affected areas are Kedah, Perak, Selangor, and Johor.
It is generally expected that the sea tide this time will be lower than the sea tide in November last year, but if strong winds, large waves, and heavy rains are still, the situation will become worse. This will lead to accidents such as lightning floods, seawater intrusion, and coastal floods.
The Department of Irrigation and Drainage listed several high-risk requirements such as Kedah (Kualamura), Selangor (Sabah Annam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langak), Perak (Bayan Datuk), and Johor (Batu Pahat, Pontian).
People are urged to be vigilant and avoid seaside activities. Once heavy rains and high tides continue, people must follow the instructions issued by the relevant authorities and evacuate to a safe place.
