The Thai government plans to reopen the Malaysia-Thailand border from March!

According to the “Bangkok Post” report, to stimulate tourism and economic development in southern Thailand, the Thai government plans to reopen the border between Malaysia and Thailand from March.

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth has instructed the Covid-19 Management Center and the Tourism and Sports Emergency Operations Center to draw up mitigation measures in preparation for the reopening of border checkpoints in Yala, Songkhla, Narathiwat, and Satun.

Under Thailand’s quarantine-free entry policy (Test and Go), Malaysian tourists only need to undergo two nucleic acid tests (PCR) when entering Thailand, and no quarantine measures are required.

As of February 13, Thailand had 14,900 new confirmed cases and 26 deaths, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Thailand to about 2.61 million.
