The school will reopen on October 3rd!

Schools will reopen on October 3, Sin Chew Daily quoted Senior Education Minister Datuk Radzi Jidin as saying. This resumption applies to states in stages 2 to 4 of recovery, excluding phase 1 of recovery.

Schools in the first phase of recovery states will not open on October 3, but those in the second, third and fourth phases will follow the guidelines of the National Recovery Plan.

Under the national recovery plan, areas in the first phase of recovery will not be allowed to open schools, while areas in the second phase, examination classes are allowed to return to school, and areas in the third phase will be allowed to return all students to school.

The MOE requires all school staff, including cleaners, canteen workers and security guards, to be vaccinated before they can return to work. Teachers who are not vaccinated will not be allowed to attend their classes and will need to be assigned to other jobs.

The states currently in the first phase of recovery are Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Johor and Kedah. The states in the second stage of recovery are Malacca, Perak, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah. Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Sarawak are in the third stage of recovery, while Labuan is in the fourth stage of recovery.

As of the evening of September 3, the Ministry of Education has not issued a formal official announcement, so all information is subject to the latest news issued by the Ministry of Education.
