All Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above are urged to update their personal data in the Primary Data Bank (PADU) starting from January 2.
According to information from the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Malaysia, the government will open the primary database (Pangkalan Data Utama) from January 2, 2024, and all Malaysian citizens over the age of 18 should check and update their information.
If people fail to check and update their information, they may be missed by the government and unable to enjoy various benefits provided by the government, such as assistance funds, targeted subsidies, and social security.
Here is an example to make it easier for everyone to understand the importance of updating personal information in the primary database.
The government opened applications for the RM100 eMADANI e-wallet reward in early December. Many people complained that they were eligible, but their applications were rejected. This is because these groups are not recipients of STR assistance and have not filed taxes, so the government cannot know the income of these groups.
In other words, these groups are the missed groups, so these groups should update their personal information after the main database is opened.
If these groups do not update their information, once the government begins to implement targeted fuel subsidies, these groups will not be able to enjoy the fuel subsidies provided by the government.
