It’s possible that the iPhone 6s won’t be able to upgrade to iOS 16.

The 2022 WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference will take place in June, and iOS 16 is scheduled to be announced at the event. It is expected that four model of iPhones will not receive the iOS 16 update.

According to online reports, four model of iPhones, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, first-generation iPhone SE, and iPhone 7, may be abandoned. The iPhone 6s is regarded as Apple’s generation of magical machines, and it is now in danger of being phased out.

It’s been 7 years since the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were released in 2015. These two phones are still available from iOS 9 to iOS 15 and are the longest-lasting Apple devices.

Surprisingly, the iPhone 7 was also removed from consideration. This is thought to be because the iPhone 7 only has 2GB of memory, which is insufficient for the additional capabilities in iOS 16.

The iPad Air 2, the 5th generation iPad, and the 6th generation iPad are all expected to be discontinued.
