The government will not mandate vaccination of children against Covid-19, and children who are not vaccinated will not be restricted movement!

The vaccination program for children ages 5 to 11 is not mandatory and the government will not restrict the movement of unvaccinated children.

 

According to a message from Health Minister Kerry, the vaccination program for children aged 5 to 11 will begin in February. Carey noted that the government will not mandate vaccinations for children or restrict the freedom of movement of unvaccinated children.

 

If children are not vaccinated, their MySejahtera will show that they are not vaccinated.

 

The Ministry of Health will start issuing appointments for childhood vaccinations by the end of January and will start the vaccination program in the Klang Valley on February 3. Children with chronic and underlying diseases will be prioritized for vaccination, as they are at higher risk of contracting coronary diseases and needing hospitalization than the general population.

 

A total of 269,773 children aged 5 to 11 years are known to have contracted the disease between January 25, 2020 and January 19, 2022, and 31 children have died from the disease.

 

The Department of Health’s Pharmaceutical Control Enforcement Unit (PBKD) has approved 10mcg of Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years, at one-third the dose given to adults.
