Once 90% of adults are vaccinated, the government will allow people to travel across the state and abroad without applying for My Travel Pass.
Malaysia’s vaccination program is proceeding well. With the vaccination rate of 87.6 per cent of adults in the country, as of 11:59 PM on Oct 3. That means there is only need more than 2.4 per cent to reach the target of 90 per cent vaccinated rate.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, the government will implement two measures as the adult vaccination rate reaches 90%. The first is to open up cross-state. People will be able to travel across states.
The second measure is that Malaysians will no longer required apply for My Travel Pass before leaving the country. However, they will still have to undergo mandatory quarantine after returning home. The Prime Minister also predicted that Malaysia would open its borders to foreigners in December to work or visit relatives.
The number of new cases in Malaysia is expected to rise after the government announced the two measures, so please take care of yourself by following standard operating procedures (SOP), such as wearing masks properly, maintaining physical distance, disinfecting, washing hands frequently.
