The government has announced a further relaxation of vaccination measures from May 1, and here’s a look at the updates!

1. Mask

People are exempt from wearing masks outdoors, although they still need to keep a safe distance from other people. For crowded indoor areas, masks are mandatory.

2. MySejahtera

The public is exempted from using MySejahtera when entering shopping malls or public places, but only low-risk individuals are allowed to enter public places; those who are diagnosed, in quarantine or at high risk are not allowed to enter public places.

3. Testing for confirmed patients

Persons with confirmed coronary artery disease will be quarantined for 7 days, but may be released early if they test negative for RTK-Ag on the 4th day under medical supervision.

4. Testing for inbound travelers

All vaccinated persons and children under 12 years of age are exempt from PCR testing upon entry into the country. For those who have not been vaccinated or have not completed their vaccination, they are required to undergo PCR testing 2 days prior to arrival and RTK-Ag testing under medical supervision within 24 hours of arrival.

All visitors entering Malaysia are not required to purchase coronary disease insurance.

5. Industries Reopened

Nightclubs and nightclubs were allowed to resume operation from May 15.
