The Gombak toll plaza is having a smooth traffic flow.

Yesterday night, traffic movement at the Gombak toll plaza on the way to the East Coast is smooth and controlled.

Supt Azman Shari’at, the chief of the Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), warned that after the breaking of the fast tonight, vehicle movements on major roadways across the state are expected to increase in volume.

He stated that this is in response to the offer of free tolls and discounts in honour of Aidilfitri, which began at midnight tonight and will end on May 1.

Travelers will take advantage of the opportunity to begin their journey after maghrib tonight and continue till tomorrow night. In this regard, Azman stated that police would be paying close attention to anybody who jumped lines or drove in the emergency lane.

According to Azman, motorists who have recorded such offences can submit them as proof to the Selangor JSPT at 019-6459622, along with the location and time of the violations.

He also warned those going home to drive cautiously and follow all traffic laws.

Meanwhile, a traffic observation in Negri Sembilan observed no congestion or unusual traffic volume approaching Seremban via the North-South Expressway at the Seremban toll plaza.

Nonetheless, the town centre was packed tonight between 6 and 8 p.m., as more people returned to their home villages.
