Premise owners are urged to check visitors’ Covid risk status.

The Covid-19 risk status of visitors should be checked by premises owners through the MySejahtera app, especially in high-risk areas like restaurants, according to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

He added that high-risk individuals, such as Covid-19 positive patients under home surveillance orders (HSO), would not be allowed into the premises, and that failure to comply with set regulations would result in enforcement action under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

Although shopping malls with several entrances do not need to check the status of every visitor, Khairy urged premise owners or enforcement teams to do so.

If a premise owner approaches to check profile staus of Covid-19, Kahiry urges the public to collaborate with them. Because Malaysia is in the process of a transformation, this is for everyone’s protection.

In response to the MoU, Khairy stated that his ministry would continue to work to improve dengue preparedness and eradicate the endemic disease by 2030.

He thinks that greater effort and support may be given to neglected diseases, particularly tropical diseases like dengue fever, which he believes do not get enough attention because they do not occur in developed countries, but rather in locations like Southeast Asia, Africa, and other parts of the world.

The Health Ministry is eager to extend our existing relationship with DNDi, which has done outstanding work in establishing safe, inexpensive, and effective Hepatitis C treatment, thanks to collaborative efforts across poor countries, including Malaysia.

In another event, Khairy witnessed Pharmaniaga Berhad (Pharmaniaga) group managing director Datuk Zulkarnain Md Eusope presenting and distributing iftar kits to Kuala Lumpur Hospital director Datin Paduka Dr Rohana Johan at the hospital. The packets were also received by staff from the hospital’s Emergency and Trauma department.

Under the Ramadan Hero initiative, the packets were a token of Pharmaniaga’s gratitude to personnel of public hospitals and district police in the Klang Valley.
