The first phase of the BKM aid will be disbursed in March, according to information on the official website of the Malaysian Aid (BKM). Those who are eligible will be able to receive the aid directly through their bank account, while those who do not have a bank account will be able to receive it through BSN Bank.
BKM assistance will be distributed in 4 phases: March, June, September and December. In March, June, September, and December, aid recipients in the family group will receive assistance. Aid recipients in the single category will receive aid in March and September.
At present, the government has not announced the amount of aid distributed in each stage. The government will announce the amount of aid distributed in each stage until next month.
Applications for BKM aid are open from January 1 to January 31. Those who have received assistance or have applied for assistance in the past year will be automatically included in the review list of BKM assistance, and those who are eligible will automatically receive assistance.
Under the BKM assistance system, the government divides beneficiaries into families, singles and seniors over 60.
- Family group: divided into those with monthly income not exceeding RM2,500 and those with monthly income between RM2,501 and RM5,000.
- Singles: for individuals aged 21 and above with a monthly income of not more than RM2,500.
- Seniors group aged 60 and above: single or widowed seniors with a monthly income of not more than RM5,000.
