How to keep your flowers forever after Valentine’s?

17/02/2022

Many people receive bouquets on Valentine’s Day but don’t keep them for long, as the flowers wilt quickly. Whether it’s your bridal bouquet, anniversary or Valentine’s Day arrangement, or a particularly gorgeous vase picked from your own garden, drying your flowers will preserve their beauty and sentimental value.

Air drying is also known as hanging the bouquet upside down. This method works best with whole bouquets or robust blooms such as roses, lavender, baby’s breath, and others.

The Steps to Air Dry Flowers

  1. First, remove excess foliage from flowers.
  2. Cut stems to the desired length, leaving at least 6 inches.
  3. Tie the stems together with rubber bands or twine if you have a bouquet.
  4. Hang them upside down in a dark, dry, well-ventilated place. Keeping the flowers out of direct sunlight will help them retain their color.
  5. After that, the drying process will take about two to three weeks.
  6. Once the flowers dried, remove the flowers and spray with an unscented hairspray for protection.

These steps of air-dry flowers will help keep those special memories alive with commemorative keepsakes. Let’s try to do this if you still keeping your Valentine’s bouquet!
