During the Chinese New Year and the Federal Territory Day are the same, many people are concerned about whether they can enjoy supplementary leave on February 3.
February 1 is Federal Territory Day every year, and Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan all have a holiday on February 1. February 1 this year coincides with the first day of the Lunar New Year, which means that the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday and the Federal Territory Day collide.
According to the Malaysian Cabinet, under the Public Holidays Act 1951 (Act 369), public holidays can only be granted on Fridays or Sundays. The first day of Chinese New Year and the Federal Territory falls on a Tuesday, and working people under the Public Holidays Act 1951 are not automatically entitled to make-up leave.
Workers under the Labour Act 1955 (Act 265) are entitled to compensatory leave. Workers in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan are entitled to a paid holiday on 3 February if your job application letter is under the Labour Act 1955.

PERTINDIHAN HARI KELEPASAN AM PERSEKUTUAN DAN NEGERI BAGI TAHUN 2022
Memandangkan hari pertama Tahun Baru Cina dan Hari Wilayah Persekutuan jatuh pada hari bekerja iaitu Selasa, 1 Februari 2022, maka tiada cuti gantian secara automatik diperuntukkan di bawah Akta Hari Kelepasan 1951 [Akta 369]. Cuti gantian secara automatik pada hari berikutnya han kelepasan am jatuh pada hari kelepasan mingguan (Jumaat atau Ahad) mengikut negeri masing-masing.
Manakala bagi pekerja yang tertakluk di bawah Akta Kerja 1955 [Akta 265], majikan di Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya dan Labuan hendaklah memberikan hari kelepasan am berbayar pada Khamis, 3 Februari 2022.
