YouTube is testing the annual fee plan, you can directly sign up for the 12-month plan

20/01/2022

YouTube is testing an annual fee package, which will allow you to watch YouTube videos without ads for about RM450 per year.

At present, the paid package launched by YouTube, YouTube Premium, is only a monthly package. Under the YouTube Premium monthly package, a single user can watch videos without ads for only RM17.90 per month.

The family package is RM27.90 per month for 5 family members to enjoy YouTube Premium at the same time, and students can enjoy YouTube Premium at a monthly fee of RM10.90 per month.

According to foreign media reports, YouTube is testing an annual fee package, allowing users to enjoy a year of ad-free video viewing experience for $107.99 or about RM451.78. If you only want to use YouTube Music, it is $89.99 (equivalent to RM376.48).

The YouTube annual subscription plan is currently available in Canada, the US, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Turkey, Germany, Thailand, India, and Japan. Users can sign up for this annual fee plan after their monthly fee plan ends.

It is important to note that RM451.78 is directly converted to US dollars. Generally speaking, foreign monthly fees in US dollars are more expensive than in Malaysia, so I believe that once the YouTube annual fee package is launched in Malaysia, it will be less than RM450. If the current monthly RM17.90 is calculated, it will only be RM214.80 in a year.
