In the hopes that their children will one day get a great job, some parents will be more strict with them. But in China, a father accidentally killed his son by stabbing him while he was teaching his son.
In Mianyang, Sichuan, a man with surnamed Yang split from his wife and raised his son on his own for over ten years. His son performed poorly on the exam a few days ago and received only 18 points for athletics. Yang reprimanded him after becoming angry: “If you don’t do well in literature and language, that’s okay, but how can you perform so poorly in sports? You have to be lazy!”
Later, Yang frightened his son with a samurai sword in an attempt to encourage him to work hard in school. Previously to that, Yang had twice frightened kids with a samurai sword due to learning difficulties. The kid remarked, “Dad, I am studying hard, but you always say that I am not studying hard,” after watching his father frightening him with a knife and criticizing his own efforts.
Yang took a step forward and stabbed his son with a samurai sword because he was so angry. He shocked his son by stabbing him in the stomach. He was so terrified that he called 911 and took him to the hospital immediately. Yang’s son, unfortunately, passed away from massive blood loss. To recreate the situation at the time, the police then followed Yang back home. Yang sobbed bitterly after killing his kid accidentally.
Yang Nan was found guilty of purposefully causing harm and was given a 12-year prison term by the court. The case is still pending.
