A 14-year-old girl addicted to using mobile phone for 81 hours without sleep nearly killed herself

Recently, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, a 14-year-old girl was in bed when she suddenly fell to the floor and passed out. After emergency resuscitation, the girl was saved, and it turned out that she had been using her cell phone for 81 hours straight without sleeping.

The girl’s parents sent her to the hospital to stay with her grandmother so she wouldn’t be addicted to her cell phone. They didn’t expect her to play on her phone even more obsessively when she got home.

The girl later remembered that before what happened, she had played on her phone for 81 hours straight without sleeping until she suddenly passed out.

She had already called for help when the doctor on the call found her. He couldn’t feel it when he tried to press on her carotid artery. When he insisted on her eyes, she didn’t react to the pressure. After the current shocked her heart, the doctor on duty decided immediately to give her electric defibrillation and continue chest compressions. Slowly, she started to get better.

At the doctor’s suggestion, the girl’s parents took her to a doctor for a thorough checkup to ensure nothing was wrong with her body.

Many netizens have said things like, “How do you not sleep? “, “Playing for more than three days on a cell phone battery uses a lot of power,” “That’s too much,” and “Sick grandmother is the silliest, and her granddaughter is playing on the phone with her while she is sick.”

Some experts recommend making more appropriate sleep arrangements for kids who stay up late using cell phones, saying that parents should keep a close eye on their kids and limit the time their kids spend operating devices.

Long-term late sleeping and staying up late without playing on cell phones are also bad for the body. Most of the body’s immune factors are made at night, so late sleeping and staying up late for a long time will lead to a weaker immune system, fatigue, mental discomfort, and colds that come out of nowhere.

No matter how old you are, it would help to plan your work and rest time so that you don’t stay up too late. Parents should be conscientious not to stay up late every night in front of their kids so as not to change their habits.
