The government will open applications for the BKM grant on January 1 and eligible persons can receive a maximum of RM2500.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the BKM will be open for application from January 1 to January 31, 2022, and the BKM will be paid in 4 phases, with the first phase to be paid in March.
If you are an existing BPR, BKC or GKP recipient, you do not need to update your information if there is no change. Eligible persons will automatically be included in the BKM grant list.
If you have previously applied for BPR, BKC or GKP and your application was rejected, you will automatically be considered for BKM. The government will review the information you have submitted and those who are eligible will automatically receive the BKM grant.
For those who have changed their information or have not applied for BPR, BKC and GKP, you can apply from January 1 to January 31, 2022. The Ministry of Finance will publish the BKM application website at a later date.
Under the BKM Scheme, the government has divided the beneficiaries into 4 groups, namely, families with monthly income up to RM2,500, families with monthly income between RM2,501 and RM5,000, single or widowed aged persons with monthly income up to RM5,000, and single persons with monthly income up to RM2,500.
In the family group earning up to RM2,500 per month, RM1,000 for no children, RM1,500 for having 1 to 2 children and RM2,000 for having 3 children or more.
Families with monthly income between RM2,501 and RM5,000 will receive RM400 for no children, RM600 for 1 to 2 children and RM800 for 3 children or more.
Single parents and single mothers are also entitled to an additional RM500, for example, if you are a single parent with 3 children earning up to RM2,500 per month, you are entitled to RM2,500.
A single or widowed person of prime age with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 will get RM600. A single person with a monthly income of up to RM2,500 will get RM350.
