The registration process for the 2024/2025 first grade has been extended to May 1.
According to the Ministry of Education (KPM), parents with children born between January 2, 2017, and January 1, 2018, can enroll their children in the first grade for the 2024/2025 school year online from May 1 to June 30 this year.
In the past, the Ministry of Education has opened first-grade enrollment from March 1 to April 30, but since the start of the school year has been postponed this year, the Ministry has also postponed first-grade enrollment. Parents will have to wait until May 1 to enroll their children in first grade online.
The Ministry of Education has not only delayed first-grade registration but has also launched a new website for parents to use. Parents can now register their accounts on the new registration website before they can begin enrolling their children on May 1. The new first-grade registration website is https://idme.moe.gov.my/login.
It is understood that those parents who had already registered their children for first grade last year in advance will need to re-register their children this year as well, although the method may vary from school to school and parents are urged to check with their respective schools for details.
Previously, the Ministry of Education allowed parents to enroll their children in first grade two years in advance, but as things stand now, the Ministry may no longer allow parents to enroll their children in advance.
