31/01/2023

The government will not only cooperate with telecommunications companies to launch affordable mobile Internet packages, but will also launch affordable home fixed-line broadband packages.

According to a message from Digital Communications Minister Fahmy, the government is working with telecommunications companies to launch affordable home fixed-line broadband packages to reduce the burden on people’s lives.

The cheapest home fixed line broadband package is now unifi 30Mbps which costs RM89 per month and unifi 100Mbps which costs RM129 per month, if the telcos can further reduce the home fixed line broadband package, it will reduce the burden of the low income group.

Pakej Perpaduan Prabayar was announced in December last year, which provides 30GB of internet data and the internet data is valid for 6 months at RM30, but the speed will be limited to 5Mbps.

The mobile internet solidarity package (Pakej Perpaduan) targets the B40 low-income group, young people, the physically challenged (OKU), the aged and the retired military and police. This package will be launched by Celcom-Digi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM and YTL Yes in February 2023.

The mobile internet unity package is expected to be launched in February.
