On November 11, a youngster was taken into custody for using a golf club to attack a deliveryman in Seoul’s affluent Gangnam neighbourhood during the day.
The attacker, a high school student, is currently being charged with aggravated assault.
The victim’s dashboard camera footage was posted on YouTube on November 24, which led to the incident’s discovery.
The teenager was seen in the video driving past an apartment complex’s gate and hitting a delivery worker on a motorbike with a golf club.
The teenager casually picked up his club off the roadway and turned to go as the motorbike came to a stop. When the victim tried to approach him, the adolescent disregarded him as well.
As per the YouTube channel, the victim had injuries on his leg as a result of the attack.
The motorbike sustained significant damage as well; repairs are expected to cost 2.6 million won (S$2,685) and take six months to complete.
The public was incensed by the teen’s parent’s purported response.
The victim in the video claims that the teen’s father apologised over the phone for a short while before disappearing.
The victim requested 30 million won in compensation, but the teen’s father allegedly offered to cover only half of that amount. The victim stated that he plans to report a crime to the authorities.
The adolescent allegedly admitted to carrying out the attack for no particular reason throughout the inquiry. According to reports, he was convicted of assault before.
