Taxpayers can get their tax refunds through DuitNow!
According to a circular issued by the Inland Revenue Department (LHDN), taxpayers can choose to get their tax refunds through DuitNow, in addition to using existing checks, tax refund coupons, electronic transfers, and wire transfers.
DuitNow will be able to use personal identification information such as phone numbers and ID numbers as transfer numbers.
The DuitNow refund option will start with individual taxpayers for the time being and will be gradually extended to other categories of taxpayers.
The tax filing season is from March to July every year. Working people who are not in business need to complete their tax returns between March 1 and May 15, while those who are in business need to complete their tax returns between June 1 and July 15.
