Tan Sri Noor Hisham said: These three scenarios must be self-tested!

09/02/2022

On February 6, the pandemic in Malaysia reached 10,000 for the second time! In the face of the rampaging Omicron, the number of confirmed cases continues to rise; also, it is now the Lunar New Year season, and many individuals have inadvertently come into contact with confirmed patients, so, how many days should we take the self-test?

In a Facebook post today, Director of Health Tan Sri Nur Hisham urged everyone to self-test at home if they have any of these three diseases!

These 3 situations must do self-test:

  1. If you have Covid-19 symptoms
  2. If you are exposed to a confirmed patient, you must take a self-test on day 5
  3. Before a party, please take a self-test.

In addition to the above 3 cases, it is highly recommended to take a self-test when you go back to your hometown to see your family, go to work, travel, etc.

Many people will panic and take the self-test immediately after they know they have been in contact with a confirmed infected person. However, because the new coronavirus has an incubation period, Health Director Tan Sri Noor Hisham has posted an article on Facebook advising those who have been in contact with a confirmed infected person to take the test on the 5th day, and to quarantine themselves first to avoid unnecessary cross-infection!
