Sultan Ibrahim departs from Istana Bukit Serene in Johor.

JOHOR BARU: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, departed from Istana Bukit Serene and proceeded to the Royal hangar located at Senai International Airport.

The Royal entourage arrived at the Royal hangar around thirty minutes after leaving the royal gate at 7:45 a.m.

Since early on Wednesday, January 31, thousands of people have gathered along the Skudai highway to greet Sultan Ibrahim and his entourage as they head to the Royal hangar.

Beginning on Wednesday, January 31, Sultan Ibrahim will take the throne as Malaysia’s 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, serving a five-year reign.

Sultan Ibrahim is taking off on his private jet to Kuala Lumpur, escorted by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
