The Ministry of Education will disburse assistance to students with family incomes below RM3,000 in March 2022.
Students with family income of less than RM3,000 will be eligible for a assistance of RM150 (Bantuan Awal Persekolahan), according to a message from Senior Minister of Education Raz Gidin in Parliament. This assistance will be disbursed to schools in January and to students in March.
The RM150 assistance will be disbursed through the school, either directly into the student’s bank account or in cash.
Students from M40 families are also eligible for the assistance, if their household income does not exceed RM3,000.
The government has allocated a total of RM450 million for the disbursement of the assistance and it is expected that 3 million students will benefit.
