Solar power not as good as you think? Even the greenest renewable resource can cause irreversible changes to the environment!

While the world is now moving towards renewable energy, even the most recognised source of renewable energy, solar energy, can cause irreversible changes to the environment!

Desert areas are the most sunny areas, so many top technology companies are using the uniqueness of desert areas to build huge scale solar power plants in the Shahra Desert to collect heaps of solar energy in exchange for electricity!

But due to the black nature of solar panels, when solar energy is collected, only 15% of the sunlight will be converted into electricity, and the rest will become heat and raise the temperature!

Although this temperature increase is less than the emissions caused by carbon dioxide, it is still an amount that should not be underestimated. Especially if solar energy rises in the future, the massive construction of solar power plants will cause an irreversible temperature increase!

Moreover, the global air temperature is circulated by air currents, so the heat emitted by solar power plants will be carried to other regions.

But, according to some, climate change isn’t always a bad thing.to the study, if the solar panels occupy 20% of the total area of the Shahra Desert, it will trigger a feedback loop, making the desert temperature more extreme, which in turn causes the desert area to drop in air pressure, allowing the humid air from the ocean to enter the Shahra Desert, and forming rainfall, which is expected to make the Shahra Desert green!
