As several states enter Phase Four recovery, the Department of Education has announced that classes may begin in states that are entering Phase four recovery. If you are unsure about sending your child back to school, you may suspend sending your child to school, but only if you give the school a written notice.

Schools in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Malacca will return to school in phases from November 1 and November 8. Schools in Johor and Terengganu will also return to school in phases from November 8 and November 14 onwards. Schools in Labuan and Negeri Sembilan have also started to return to school.

Parents have the right to decide whether or not to allow their child to return to school, and if they choose not to allow their child to return to school for the time being, they are urged to give the school written notice. This is to allow the school to keep track of the student’s whereabouts, rather than the student missing school on his or her own. Those students who do give formal notice will not be subject to disciplinary action by the school.

Here is a sample letter for you to write, you can refer to it.
