According to a release from Proton, the second facelit of the third generation Saga will be released on 12 May 2022. Proton has already published a number of photos of the Saga on Facebook, and a number of photos of the interior of the Saga have also been revealed on the internet.
On the exterior, the Saga gets a redesigned water tank cover, a new round Proton logo and new wheel rims. Internet reports suggest that the Saga will get 15-inch wheels and foldable left and right mirrors, as well as a solenoid-switchable rear compartment.
As for the interior, Saga may get red trim strips for the air vents, a three-point and nine-point steering wheel, and a new round Proton badge for the steering wheel. The slightly revised Saga may also feature a 7-inch touchscreen console and a newly designed cold air control panel.
Proton Saga has always been one of the cheapest cars in Malaysia and before the facelift the Proton Saga was available in three models, namely the 1.3 Stadard manual, 1.3 Standard and 1.3 Premium. These three models are priced at RM32,800, RM35,800 and RM39,800 respectively in West Malaysia, and an additional RM2,000 in East Malaysia, not including insurance.
