If inflation increases, the government will not rule out the possibility of increasing the third and fourth phases of BKM aid!
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said that the government will continue to provide assistance to the people and will not allow them to tighten their belts (Ikat Perut). If the prices of goods in the country continue to rise, the government will increase the amount of BKM aid when it is released in September and December.
The Prime Minister said that the increased BKM assistance will be effective in relieving the burden of the B40 low-income group at a time when the prices of goods are increasing. The government has never paid out more than RM2,000 before, but in 2022 the government will pay out more than RM2,000 for the first time.
Under the 2022 BKM Assistance Scheme, single mothers with three or more children and a monthly income of up to RM2,500 will receive RM2,500. This means that this group will receive a total of RM2,600.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ishmael Sabil announced in late June that BKM recipients in the family category will receive an additional RM100 while those in the single category will receive RM50.
