According to a release from the Malaysian Minister of Health, people should take appropriate measures to hydrate to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke in view of the rising temperatures and intense heat.
He also urged people to avoid unnecessary strenuous exercise during this period and also to hydrate adequately.
Symptoms of heat exhaustion include fainting or dizziness, sweating, chills, pallor, clammy skin, vomiting and nausea, a rapid and weak pulse, and muscle cramps. As for heat stroke, the signs are pounding dizziness, no sweating, a body temperature over 103 degrees Fahrenheit, red, hot and dry skin, nausea and vomiting, a fast and strong pulse and possible loss of consciousness.
